Strolled down the boardwalk of Olden Days
Where overhead the Seagulls in thousands
Take their flight off into the vast the heavenlies
As noon day sun slowly gives way to
The night, her coolness and
The drifting sands of time.
Strolled down the boardwalk of Olden Days
Stood there for a moments few
Listening, listening so attentively as
The Waters Great from oceans the world over
Came and washed upon the golden shore
In a rhythmic pattern giving remembrance of times past.
Strolled down the boardwalk of Olden Days
Heard laughter coming from the Town's Cafe
Remember that Cafe that so long ago where
We'ed make plans to meet and share
Passing the evening hours away
Over a cappunico or two with some French Silk on the side
Strolled down the boardwalk of Olden Days
The laughter I heard was not yours
Rather some other chap who thot his worldly views
To be the envy of them all
When all of a sudden there was a tear misting my heart
When I realized just how long ago those Olden Days were
Strolled down the boardwalk of Olden Days
Thot I'd go in the Cafe and order up a cup of the frothy cappa
When all of a sudden the juke box began to play
One by one the songs of Olden Days they began to play
Could hardly believe what all I was a listening to
Why it was as though my life was flashing before me
Strolled down the boardwalk of Olden Days
With a cup of the cappa to go held in my hand
Oh how I was wishing it was your hand in mine
With your gentleness of manner giving warmth to the night...
On far distant horizon the breezes of the midnight were swelling up
The Waters Great tumbling for great was the Thunderous Storm arising
